Natives Many of the grasses and forbs that grow in and around Lake Katherine area are native to the area. However, many growing outside of protected areas such as Lake Katherine, have been destroyed due to urban sprawl and development. The following is a list of the native forbs and grasses that continue to thrive at Lake Katherine Nature Center and Botanic Gardens.
