In order to maintain a pleasant experience for all visitors, ensure safety, and protect the natural resources and wildlife we ask that the following rules be observed while visiting Lake Katherine Nature Center and Botanic Gardens.
 
Dogs are welcome but must be kept on a leash at all times, under control, and please pick up after your pet.
 
Please do not disturb the plants, animals or other natural features at Lake Katherine in any way.
 
Visiting groups consisting of 15 or more individuals must sign in at the nature center. Proper adult supervision is required.
 
It is unlawful at Lake Katherine to:
 
  • Feed any animals
  • Litter
  • Picnic, grill, play ball, or fly kites.
  • Swim, wade, or sunbathe.
  • Ride or lead a horse.
  • Hunt, fish or trap wildlife.
  • Release wildlife, including fish of any species into the lake or other body of water in the preserve.
  • Operate any watercraft of any type, including any toy watercraft, on Lake Katherine.
  • Start a fire.
  • Bring alcohol, illegal drugs, or fireworks of any kind, onto nature center property.
  • Posses or use firearms and all other weapons.
  • Operate a motor driven cycle, motorcycle, mini-bike, go-kart, snowmobile, or any off-road vehicle.
 
Violators are subject to $150 fine
