Come out of your shell and learn all about these cold-blooded animals. Experience an interaction with some of our scaly friends that call Lake Katherine home.
Oct 6, 8: Itsy Bitsy Spider
Get your spidey senses going learning about spiders. Don’t get caught mistaking a spider for an insect. Take a hike to find some of these eight-legged friends and their webs.
Oct 13, 15: Whoo is it?
Have a “hootin” good time learning all about owls, owl calls and their feathers. Look up close at an owl pellet and discover what kinds of things owls eat.
Oct 20, 22: Bat-tastic
Go batty discovering fun facts about bats and play a batty game too. Take a hike looking for where these creatures could rest.
Oct 27, 29: Pumpkin Party
Get into the spooky spirit with this fun pumpkin program. Take a close look at the inside of pumpkins, their seeds and their leaves. Enjoy decorating a pumpkin to take home. *Kids are encouraged to wear costumes!

Sept 14, 16, 18: Who’s caught in the web?
Don’t get caught mistaking a spider for an insect! Learn the difference between insects and spiders. Keep an eye out, or eight, to look for our eight-legged friends.
Sept 21, 23, 25: Wetland Wonders
Take a hike on the shores of Lake Katherine using water nets to collect specimens. We will examine the specimens using magnifying glasses and a dissecting scope
Oct 5, 7, 9: Fishing Fever
Drop in and drop a line in this Tom Sawyer style fishing program. Learn about fish and the different species that call Lake Katherine home.
Oct 12, 14, 16: Hoot, Hoot, Hooray*ages 6-11

Dig in to the exciting life of worms! Take a closer look at our wiggly friends and discover what makes them so important to the soils.
