Stories at the Lake

The first Thursday of every month, 4 to 5 pm, free event for kids!

Lake Katherine volunteer educator Nicole Snyder will host storytime, reading aloud from a nature-themed children’s book. Plus fun activities. No need to book in advance - just turn up.

Little Explorers

1 hour experience for 3 to 6 year old children together with their favorite adult.
$6 per child, pre-registration is required.

Have a heart for our bird friends

Children will learn the special function of bird’s beak.  Children will eat like a bird, tasting pasta (worms), raisins (insects) and sunflower seeds.  Children will also examine bird feathers and nests. A walk outside to look for birds, and a bird feeder project are included.

We will look closely at the turtles in the nature center to see their similarities, and differences. Children will hold and help feed the turtles.

Earth Day Celebration CANCELLED

In celebration of Earth Day we will show are love by picking up trash on our walk outdoors to help clean up Lake Katherine.  A gardening project will be planting lettuce in a bag to take home.
